I just came back from Holguin, Cuba. And it is my pleasure to tell you all about the trip. Now, first and foremost- I'd like to let my readers know something. After this post, you won't be seeing long posts. I have decided to write more posts, but that are all shorter. I hope this decision pleases you. I find it is easier to read shorter posts, since you don't lose interest like you do in SUPER LONG posts. Now, back to my Cuban Christmas adventure.

Starting off with the basics. We stayed there for 7 days, and our resort was Sol Rio de Luna y Mares. It was a 4 star resort, and I loved every minute of my time in the Caribbeans. My brother, my 2 cousins, my mom, my aunt and uncle and I went. My dad isn't a fan of warm weather, or sun- So he decided to stay back with our dog, JJ. Our flight was 3 hours and 45 minutes. Afterwards, when we got to the international airport, we had an hour-long bus ride to the resort. We got there at midnight, I believe.
The first day was on Sunday. We had breakfast, and afterwards went to a meeting to learn all about the resort, and the extra trips offered. Let me talk about the food for a second. There was one major buffet restaurant located in the actual hotel. Then, there were many little bars and restaurants, where you order your food. Now, the food was simply amazing. I loved it! We ate so much! I won't even bother trying to explain the amazing quality of the food. The chefs were great. Now, back to the events. After the meeting, we went to the pool. Now, I'm not going to go describing each day to you. That would take way too long.

In general, we spent a lot of our time at the beach and the pool. The sand was really nice! It was white like flour, and smooth. My brother and I covered ourselves in sand from neck to toe. ;) It was so much fun! The sea was great, too! The first few days, there were lots of waves. My brother and I took advantage of it. We went a little deeper, and waited for the waves, each time, the wave would push us. It felt awesome. Unfortunately, though, the bigger waves would knock us down, and push us to the shore. So, as soon as we get up and open our mouth to breathe, another giant wave would knock us down again, and fill our mouth with water. The salt was disgusting. I liked the beach more, since the water was warmer. It was much more natural.
Also, I'd like to tell you all about how I went swimming with dolphins. The morning, we woke up, and had breakfast. At 9:00, a bus picked us up. The ride was fairly short- only 5 minutes. Then, we got onto a boat, and rode another 5 minutes. It was really nice weather, and we even saw jellyfish in the bay. Then, we had 20 minutes of petting the dolphins, and we all got 2 kisses from the dolphins. It was so much fun, they were adorable! We were in a group of 15 or so, and there were 2 dolphins: Via and Tornado. The people who went were: My brother, Cousin Dris, Uncle, and me. After the playing with dolphins, we could pay a tip to do an extra exercise with them. My uncle didn't know we needed that much money, so he didn't bring a lot. And since it was my cousin's birthday, my brother and I decided to let him go first. And when my uncle had enough money for one more, I let my brother go. But, we were lucky to get Dris' exercise free. So I had enough money to go, too. Dris and Ivan were simply pulled by the 2 dolphins. They put their hands around the fins, and the dolphins gave them a speedy ride. I, however, did something different. I was "standing" in the water, when they come from underneath the water, and one puts their mouth under one foot, and the other under the other foot. They lifted my out from the water, about 2 metres into the air. It was so much fun, but yet so freaky! I yelled, and eventually lost balance, tumbling into the water. :) It was a great experience. Afterwards, came the dolphin and sea lion show, both of which were very neat.

Now, Ivan and me made lots of new friends, too. For the FIRST time EVER, Ivan made more friends than me. I knew them all, but didn't consider them all actual friends. They were all from different parts of the world. There were 2 from Italy, 1 from England, 5 from Quebec, and 3 or so from Ontario. We gathered all their e-mails, and promised to stay in touch. Each night, we hung out at the billiard table, and the ping-pong table. We had lots and lots of fun.
Now, I hope if anything, that you see the fun of Cuba! The excitement, the thrill, and the beauty of the country. I really think everyone should go! It was one of my best vacations yet, and I am so glad I got to experience it with my family. I'm glad I got to see Cuba, meet new friends, and have a warm winter.

P.S. I made the Honour Roll this term! I am so proud of myself! It's when your overall grade average is over 80%. Meaning, an average of an A! I had an average of 82%. I worked hard, and I think I deserved it!
P.P.S. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Years! :D
