As you should know, the first day of school was Tuesday, September 7th. But, our school works a little differently, so the first day of actual classes were Monda, September 13th. The first week is something we call "Harmony Week". To be honest, it benefits mostly the grade 7s. We basically don't do much schoolwork, just meet our teachers, get accustomed to the school, and the classes, and the class, and the people. We have a few assemblies that explain the expectations for the year and all that information. And we just basically get used to the school, for a week (or 4 days really), before we kick into study mode.
I find it nice to be able to relax, and just get used to waking up early in the morning, and all that regular school stuff for a week, without stressing over schoolwork just yet. But that's why once the classes really start, it gets insane! It's definitely hectic.
Oh, and the reason I find it mostly benefits the grade 7s, is because we grade 8s already know the school, we've been there, done that. We've gone through the assemblies, and we know the expectations, how our schedule, and the classes work. We know who the teachers are, how they mark, what they expect and where the classes themselves are. We already know all the people in our class, because we practically know our whole grade just from last year. Now, don't worry I won't complain! (; .
I like that we can just keep it cool for a week. I'm just saying, that even though our assemblies are seperate, and different, because grade 7 and grade 8, even if they are only a year apart, are two VERY different years. It gets boring from time to time, because we still have places to be and things to go over and a whole bunch of other stuff, so we can't just catch up with friends, and hang out and have fun, but not doing any actual work gets boring. Although, it's okay! Now that the week has started, I seriously appreciate the harmony week! It's pretty uptight again now...
Aha, now back to my point. It's only been a week, and I've only attended school from Monday to Wednesday, because of my foot injury, I couldn't walk. But, I managed to catch up because I visited the school to collect my homework. Well, let's just say I've got piles & piles of homework, it's only been the first week! If it continues at this rate, and keeps piling up some more, which it will obviously, because we're going to be learning more and more material, then being up to date with my life through this blog will be slightly complicated.
Of course though, I will be trying to let you guys know what's going on in my life, and I will keep blogging. But, I just thought I should warn you, on this Sunday, before the torture begins again in a matter of hours, what will probably be happening.
I VERY HOPEFULLY will get back to you soon? xoxo.

Summer OH10. (:
These past 3 posts, all coming at you in a 3 day range, will hopefully be a reason to forgive me? Aha.
Well, this is the real thing. This is huge! My summer this year. And every summer has a story.
So, it started the 1st day of July. The year was incredibly long, it was crazy! In the past few years, school has started around September 8th, and it has ended around June 25th. Well for the school year of '09-'10 , it started September 5th, and ended June 30th... Lovely.
Well anyways! We were to leave for our cousins' place at Montreal like we do each summer, but a little later on in the summer vacation this year, haha. And by a little later, I mean we had 5 days to chill out with our friends, and hang out here, at home.
Well those 5 days definitely sped by! I went to the mall a few times, just hung out at home listening to music all day (; , hung out at my friends' houses, and went to the beach. Yeah, it wasn't a whole lot, and it wasn't a whole long of a time, but it was amazing, each and every minute. We had the times of our lives, went crazy and tried to make the most of my 5 days. We totally succeeded. :D
But then, came Montreal. Being the wonderful procrastinator I am, I was packing like crazy just the morning before we left. We left in the afternoon, so I had a matter of hours to pack everything and anything I could possibly need in that month and a half. I am a girl. And that is every girl's nightmare! :\
Of course, I did ask for it. Because procrastinating gets you nowhere, but I still did it. Oops, haha. So it was hectic! I didn't know what mood I was going to be in each day, and what I would want to wear, obviously, so I believe I packed my whole summer wardrobe... Minus a few shirts. My mom called me crazy, and I just laughed. A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do. :P
And then of course, I had to pack stuff that would keep me busy. Like books, my computer, nail polish, hair accessories and all that other stuff. I did make it on time, though. Because I am, as I previously mentioned, a wonderful procrastinator. (;
Fast forward to Montreal, we finally got there! Well, the main events were basically the pool, the huge house, going to my aunt's karate and just chilling out, therefore doing my stuff like blasting music in the car while eating delicious ice cream all alone, haveennnnnnn. And well yes. Anyways, we also went to a mountain, resort, hotel thing? Aha, it's a mountain called Mont Tremblant, which most people know about, in Quebec. That was an awesome adventure, and I will get into that a little further later on. I got to go to a sailing camp... I know right? You must be like: Sailing?! Really? But I'll explain that too! And finally, it was pretty nice to know it was indeed summer. Oh wait no! I'm not done. Have I mentioned their house is practically a hotel? No? Okay, I shall go into that... It's crazyyy! They are constantly inviting some of their friends from France, where they previously lived, to visit them here in Canada, and yeah. But don't worry, they are friends, haha.
Although isn't it sad how all year, we say things like, oh my gosh! School's such a drag, the teachers are sooo dumb, and this is so boring. I do. Not. Want. To. Be. Here. Whens summer going to settle in already? But then, after a bit of summer, we. Well, basically die of boredom. So we say things like, oh my goodness! I miss my friends so much! I want to go home, and go back to school. At least then I have stuff to do, oh man. But then, aha. We get home, and it's all great! Until the last 2 days before school, where we're panicking and totally freaking out, and dreading the next few days... All over again. Second day of school. WIEADJFAOFJO WHENS LABOR DAY. So yeah, that's basically the cycle. Ironic, right? (:
Back to the summer vacation itself though.
So, the first few main points I mentioned were the pool, and the big house and the karate. Well there's not too much to expand on those topics. The pool and the big house, they yell it out themselves. Pure awesomeness. It's great to be like that the whole summer. Ahhah. And then, the karate. Well basically, just like basketball is to me. That's how karate is to my aunt. She goes to this Kyokushinkai (?) place to practice, and my cousin used to as well. But then he lost interest, so now it's only her. And well, there's this ice cream parlor in the same plaza, which has amazing ice cream. So what I do, on her karate days... Tuesday and Thursday. ;D I go with her, so it's only us two. Then, she heads off to practice, and I head off to indulge in my beautiful ice cream, aha. Afterwards, I might hang out a bit in the... training place? I have no idea what it's called... But anyways. And then just head out to the car, and listen to the radio, turn it up, and just lose myself in the music. It's really rather amazing, to be honest, alone like that, just calmly, and enjoying myself. After the insanity at the house most the time. :P
Now, after a few weeks I believe, we headed off to Mont Tremblant, and it was beautiful! We got to stay in a hotel, but not in a regular hotel room. We got one of those private suites, that's bigger, and more like an apartment? Aha, yeah... I forget how. (: We rented it, I think? And it made it all the greater, trust me!
So, it was like a village there, basically. It had a bunch of great restaurants, it had a bunch of hotels, pools, spas, arcades, fields, beaches, it was like a vacation village? Haha. There was this one place, or event? It was sort of like mini go-karting, but down a huge hill. I mean, after all. The whole thing's a huge mountain! It's called "Luge", and it looked sort of lame at first, so I just skipped. But after a while, I got curious as to what it was all about. I mean, it was definitely a hit, and super popular! But the activities there, even if we re-did some, it didn't bug me in the slightest, because it was a blast! The food, the Luge, the hiking, the scenarios, the late-night plays and shows, and yeah. Oh and, a part that definitely made me extra happy? Well, there weren't lots of TV channels available, because it was a mountain, in Quebec... Not exactly what I'm used to, because most the shows are in french, therefore boring. I feel like ripping my hair out every time I have to stare at some french show. Well anyways. There was MuchMusic there, which is the channel I watch, and that probably made me the happiest person on the planet when I found it. :D And I get all the updates from Toronto, aka home, because MuchMusic in located right in the middle of Toronto. (;
So basically, we went back and forth through those activities I mentioned, and a few more. But I'm getting carried away, so I'll wrap this section up, haha. But lastly, it was pretty cool how there were always things to do whether it was dry, or raining, or freezing, or boiling. And another fun part? Of course we could walk to get to point a from point b. But we could also use the lifts, and that was definitely so much fun! (;
Onto the next one now! Once we got home, after a week of chilling, we went to this sailing camp. No, not our choice. The parents signed us up... Well, all four of us went, but only 3 were actually excited, therefore my 2 cousins, and my brother. Ughh, I did not want to go. Of course I ended up going because I was forced to against my will. But instead of going the full 5 days we were signed up, I only had a necessary 3 days to go. I went four. Now to set the record straight, the activities we did there were boring. -.-
I could've done without them, and sailing in general isn't my thing. Not interested in the slightest, wasn't before and still not now. But, the only, emphasis on the only, thing that made it okay were the other kids there. I made lots of friends, and most spoke English! Oh yeahhhhh! (;
Probably wasn't supposed to happen, but whatever. I got to not go the full 5 days, and I'm not going back. :D Aha, the one day I didn't go, my mom decided to call and ask why. Well, MOTHER. First of all, you woke me up, which I did not appreciate. I was waking up early the whole week, aghhhh! (: Second of all, you were the one who said I didn't have to go the full five days, so stop questioning my motives, I did not have to. And third of all, you said, which made me laugh, that I was enjoying myself, and that I said it was great. AHAH NO. I said the kids were great. Period. Now don't take this the wrong way please, I'm not mad. I'm just saying, aha. Still love you mom. (;
So yeah. Basically, over there, we just swam and stuff. They had a pool, so I guess that was okay, but the WATER WAS FREEZING. That's why I liked the lake better, even if the seaweed was disgusting. ;D Yeah, we sailed a lot, but I didn't like that part, I died of boredom. The fun part was the kayaking. That was a blastttt. Especially when my friends & I went super far, and starting rampaging and stealing kayaks. Ahh, that was amazing.
So yes, in conclusion of this sailing camp part. I didn't want to go at first, and I definitely could've done without it. So that's why instead of 5 days, I only went four. But I went four instead of 3, because the friends there were amazing, like really amazing. And the kayaking was the highlight, since we were bad kids. (; Haha.
Now, it was shortly after that that we went home, but I need to mention a few more things before that!
So the week we had to chill in between coming home from Mont Tremblant, and going to the sailing camp, we went for a day to Valcartier. Which if you guys didn't know, is an amazing place in Quebec city, that during the winter, you can tube on the snow, and during the summer, it's a water park. It. Was. A. Rad. Day. I loved it! My uncle, mom, brother, Dris and I went. I was the only one who had been there during the winter to snow tube, since I went with my class to Quebec, and visited Valcartier. I've got to say, both seasons made for an equally incredible trip!
The water park was lovely, and there were bunches and bunches of fun rides to go on, not to mention that it was a great day. It started off a little cloudy, but very soon after the weather became spectacular, and we could totally have some fun in the sun! We went on lots of rides, tanned, and just hung out. It was lots of fun, even if the place was super crowded.
But on the way back, we stopped by Casey's in Quebec City, for some dinner. It was delicious. But the only reason I'm mentioning this, is because we found it funny that when my brother & I finished, and headed to the car to listen to the radio while the others finished up, we closed and locked the doors. And right, like not even joking, the second after our car got soaked by some water-working lunatics. So yeah. We were lucky... Except for the fact that when I turned on the radio, I decided to rub my eye, and from when I was making a food invention/experiment in the restaurant with a bunch of food, I still had hot sauce on my fingers. I obviously had no idea. So I rub my eye. And get hot sauce in there. I'm like, panicking. Oh my gosh! It burnss!! It really really did. So I try to rub it out with my other finger, which I have no idea how, but it had hot sauce on it too. So now I have double the hot sauce in my poor little eye, therefore double the pain. But, being the idiot I am, I panicked, didn't pay attention, and tried rubbing it out with the first hot-saucy finger again. Triple the pain. Ahah, bad idea obviously. I wanted to go out and wet my eye, but our car was getting soaked, and I didn't have another dry pair of clothes...
So yes, I was almost dying. (Don't worry, I'm exaggerating.) And my brother, in this chaos, was laughing so hard, he was rolling on the seat. -.- Meanie, haha.
And that was my eventful, but fun Valcartier day. :P
Although coming home wasn't that great. Aha, no I'm joking. It was great, even if it was totally crowded. Remember how I mentioned the house was practically a hotel? Well, I can now explain all that. (:
I believe a week or two after we got to Montreal, family friends of my cousins came over from France! That's where they live, yeah, and that's where my cousins used to live, so that's how they're friends. Well, it was basically a husband, wife, and 3 boys. They were all really young though. So, they came and went. Like, they'd stay here for 3 days or something, to check out Montreal, then they'd go for Tadoussac, and Quebec City, but come back a few days later. Then they'd stay some more, but leave for Toronto for a few days, where they'd be staying at my family's house, then come back once again. Aha, did that one make sense?
Basically, it was kind of an Ontario and Quebec tour. (; And, they were exploring, and sightseeing, but they'd be coming back here a lot, because this was like, you can say, I guess like the headquarters. This was where all their main stuff were, and of course the friends that invited them. They were fun kids, and yes. That was their trip.
But we weren't with them a whole lot, because the longest time they stayed at Montreal I believe, was when we were at Mont Tremblant. And that was the craziest time! That was when that one family was there for their final days, but also the second family to come and visit was arriving. Haha, insanity, I tell you. Full house!
But the day we arrived in the afternoon, the first family left in the morning. So there was only the second family there now. Only? What am I saying? In the second family, there was a wife, a husband, and their 2 kids, the husband's brother, and the husband's daughter from a previous marriage. And of course, us, haha.
They were also like that, on and off, here and there. They'd go to Quebec City and Tadoussac for a few days, then come back here for a few days, then leave for Montreal, then Toronto, then New York and so on. They weren't a huge part of the summer, but it affected what we did. (: Although don't get me wrong, it didn't bug me all too much. It was cool. ;D
So yeah. That was basically a wrap-up... We got back home, and I hung out with friends again. I mean, it's the end. This is the end of our summer. But nothing was stopping me, I was still making the best of each moment, even if I was being lazy at home. I needed that sometimes, you know. To just chill, and relax, and hang out with myself! (;
But it's at its final end today. Tomorrow, the school year's starting again, and the regular stuffs gonna settle in. I am all set, technically I guess. All my back-to-school shopping was already done a long time ago. I got my binders all ready, my pencil case, the stuff I'll be putting in my locker. Everything I could possibly need! Haha. But mentally, am I ready? Well, who is? I don't think anyone is. I miss my friends a lot, so I am extremely excited to see them again, hang out, and see the school, the new students, and all that stuff.
Grade 8, here I come. We're ruling the school, again. And this year will be amazing. Okay? Okay.
(; Byee Summer '2010. You were fun while you lasted. ♥
P.S. Lastly, I AM SO SORRY. This was like an essay! I don't expect you to read it all, but if you did, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I know it took up your time, so I really am grateful. Love you all. And thank you to all of those whom helped make this summer happen. (:

So yeah, that's basically the cycle. Ironic, right? (:
Back to the summer vacation itself though.

So I gave it a try, and practically fell in love! No jokes. We went there often, and everybody seemed to like it, it was so much fun! There was this certain thrill that came along with it and stuff. Yeah.
Anyways. That was most definitely only a tiny part of the whole two-week trip. There were a few ice cream parlours there as well, of course. And the ice cream there. Yes, it put ice cream on a whole new level! We had a cone a day, because the cones were huge, aha.
We walked around a lot, and enjoyed the scenery. I mean, even if it got invaded by tiny business, and bunches of restaurants, and places to hang out and play with, there was still so much nature to enjoy! Even if it was totally infested by human activity, it's still so beautiful, and they have done a phenomenal job at conversing lots of nature, and the environment. Not exactly what I'm used to, because most the shows are in french, therefore boring. I feel like ripping my hair out every time I have to stare at some french show. Well anyways. There was MuchMusic there, which is the channel I watch, and that probably made me the happiest person on the planet when I found it. :D And I get all the updates from Toronto, aka home, because MuchMusic in located right in the middle of Toronto. (;
So basically, we went back and forth through those activities I mentioned, and a few more. But I'm getting carried away, so I'll wrap this section up, haha.
It was cool. ;D
So yeah. That was basically a wrap-up... We got back home, and I hung out with friends again. I mean, it's the end. This is the end of our summer. But nothing was stopping me, I was still making the best of each moment, even if I was being lazy at home. I needed that sometimes, you know. To just chill, and relax, and hang out with myself! (;

FIBA 2010 .
U da ! Ej da ! Jos nesto. :D
E pa da. Srbijaaaaaaa all the way. :D
Danas smo neverovatnu utakmicu pobedili protih Hrvata.
Obe ekipe su super igrali, i su talentovani.
U prvoj cetvrtini, su Hrvati vodili sa dovoljno velikom razlikom. U drugoj cetvrtini, smo se mi probudili, i poceli da igramo odbranu, pa se zavrsila cetvrtina sa samo 2 poena razlike, i Hrvati su jos vodili. Ali u trecoj, i pola cetvrte se menjalo non stop! Malo mi, malo oni. Stres stres. Ko ce sledeci? (;
Ali u zadnjem minutu je. Bio. Haos! -.-
Samo jedan poen razlike, i igramo jos malo. Mi se zurimo, nemam pojma sto, i ovi nam ukradu loptu. AKLSDJFAOWIEJFALKEUIOWJFOAIU. Naravno da im udje. Fenomenalno.
Volim vas, i lakunoc. <3 (;

Okej, zavrsila sam za nocas. Ovo sam totalno morala da vam ispricam. (:
Volim vas, i lakunoc. <3 (;
Puno nam je vremena proslo!
Ejjjjj blogu! I svi koji ga i citaju. Neverovatno, nisam nista napisala vec 4 meseca! Nemam pojma...
Ej da! Jos jedan mali stvar. Zato sto mi skola opet pocinje za TRI dana... I leto mi se zavrsava. ): Pocela sam post o mom prelepom letu 2010-e godine.
Volim vasssssss. <3
I neka ovaj put docekamo buducnost, da vidimo koliko ce nam post-a stici ove godine. Probacu, ali ko zna sta ce se desiti? (;

Belated Mothers Day?
Sweet & Short - Here's my message for Mother's Day! ♥
The Vocabulary Of A Mother
Inexperienced Waiter: One who asks if the children would care to order a dessert.
Feedback: The inevitable result when the baby doesn't appreciate the strained carrots.
Full Name: What you call your child when you're angry with him.
Grandparents: The people who think your children are wonderful even though they're sure you're not raising them right... -Jokes- xD
Independent: How we want our children to be for as long as they do everything we say.
Show Off: A child who is more talented than yours.
Whodunit: None of the children who live in your house.
Bottle-Feeding: An opportunity for Daddy to get up at 2am.
<3 I love you Mom! <3
A little late, okay; But at least it's given to you today! Which makes this day all the more nice; And I hope that that will suffice! (:
And, stay tuned for posts that will eventually get on here... Yes, Busy. Very. o:

Happy 48th Birthday, Dad!
As most of you should know, today is April 5th! A typical Easter Monday for most people, and they're just glad there's no work! Well, that day means a whole lot more to my family and me. Today is April 5th, and today is also my dad's birthday. 48! I'm sorry, but that's a lot... Just kidding! It was obligatory to post something about my dad, since he is the most amazing dad ever! He has helped me through so much.
For one, basketball is big. He is my team's coach, and devotes countless hours and a tremendous amount of effort towards the sport, and the team. For that, I will always be thankful. I love the sport, and the only reason I play it, is because he enrolled me many years ago. Today, I don't mean to brag, but I am a good player. That is only because I have made countless mistakes, and got frustrated so many times that I even wanted to stop being a part of Troyka! But, he was always there to support me, guide me, and fix my mistakes. He was harsh sometimes, yes. But that's the way it's supposed to be! He needs to teach me properly, and I need to get it right! So thanks dad, for never giving up. Thanks for devoting all this time towards me, my teammates, and the sport. I do know we can be awfully frustrating sometimes, and hard to handle, but you're still always right there, and that means a lot! You have helped me cross milestones, you have helped me get over fears, and definitely helped me find my sport. I love basketball, I love athletics, and this part of my life is because of you! Not only am I thankful, but the whole team is, too (:
Of course, there are many, many other things that make you a phenomenal dad. You will help me up when I fall, you will support me, acknowledge me, and always be a little tough. You have helped me understand so many things academically, and you have helped me gain common sense! :P You are a big part of my life, and you have touched so many other lives, as well! So, keep in mind, that even if I am speaking in the 1st person, this is for you, from everyone who loves you, and who cares about you.
Here are a few poems I have found that immediately reminded me of you! Read them carefully! <3 (:
-> A Father means so many things...
An understanding heart,
A source of strength and of support
Right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
In a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness
No matter what comes your way.
A special generosity
And always affection, too
A Father means so many things
When he's a man like you...
-> I find myself wondering...
Did I give you your due..
For all that you've done for me
Did I ever thank you?
For all of my childhood memories
For helping me deal with life's stresses
For helping me accept my defeats
And celebrate my successes?
Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
Good judgement, courage, and being true
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared
Did I ever thank you?
If I have forgotten, I'm thanking you now
You taught me right from wrong....
I hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated
I hope you, instinctively, knew it all along.
Happy Birthday, Dad
-> Thank you, Dad
Thank you, Dad
Thanks for loving me.
Hugs and kisses, hugs and kisses,
Comes to you from me.
Thank you, Dad
Thank you, Dad
You are such a friend.
On this day I'd like to say,
On you I can depend.
-> This special birthday wish
That comes with love to you
Brings warm and heartfelt thanks
For all the thoughtful things you do--
It also comes to let you know
You mean more to me each day
And to everyone your lives have touched
In such a loving way.
With Love!
-> When I was just a tiny kid,
Do you remember when,
The time you kissed my bruises,
Or cleaned by soiled chin?
You scrambled for the balls I shot,
(Missing all over the gym more than not,)
Yet, every time we'd play a game,
You praised the "outs" I got.
It seems like only yesterday,
You wiped away my tears,
And late at night I called your name,
To chase away my fears.
-> A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests, and defends ~
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong.
In all that you do,
a dad's love plays a part ~
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad ...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Yes, I know that this blog post is long, but you deserve it! From everyone whose lives you have touched, Happy 48th Birthday! We love you! (:
-> I find myself wondering...
Did I give you your due..
For all that you've done for me
Did I ever thank you?
For all of my childhood memories
For helping me deal with life's stresses
For helping me accept my defeats
And celebrate my successes?
Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
Good judgement, courage, and being true
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared
Did I ever thank you?
If I have forgotten, I'm thanking you now
You taught me right from wrong....
I hope you know how much you're loved and appreciated
I hope you, instinctively, knew it all along.
Happy Birthday, Dad
-> Thank you, Dad
Thank you, Dad
Thanks for loving me.
Hugs and kisses, hugs and kisses,
Comes to you from me.
Thank you, Dad
Thank you, Dad
You are such a friend.
On this day I'd like to say,
On you I can depend.
-> This special birthday wish
That comes with love to you
Brings warm and heartfelt thanks
For all the thoughtful things you do--
It also comes to let you know
You mean more to me each day
And to everyone your lives have touched
In such a loving way.
With Love!
-> When I was just a tiny kid,
Do you remember when,
The time you kissed my bruises,
Or cleaned by soiled chin?
You scrambled for the balls I shot,
(Missing all over the gym more than not,)
Yet, every time we'd play a game,
You praised the "outs" I got.
It seems like only yesterday,
You wiped away my tears,
And late at night I called your name,
To chase away my fears.

Prolecni Raspust 2010
Nedelja, 14-i Mart - Mama i tata su bili u silnim prodavnicama da kupuju stvari za kuhinju, dok smo ja i Ivan uzivali kod kuce. Una i Nina su onda dosli uvece za sleep-over. Bilo je superr (;
Jupiii! Kako je meni lepo. Ja sam ceo dan bila kod Ivane i Luke, i cak smo isli kod ROM-a. (Royal Ontario Museum.)
Obozavala sam film <3 (:

3 LONG months in 1 LONG blog post.
Well, January was a blur: There isn't much to say other than that we just had to get back on track with out regular lives after the holidays. So, I won't go through many details. February and March were the most exciting months - I think. So, I'll just leave you with that... A blurry month in the past, that is practically forgotten and BORING! Ooh! Wait, noo, I do have one thing to say about January. The report card marks for term 2 were due, and all the teachers were going crazy trying to get the marks needed onto the report card. Because they didn't have enough marks, and that is fully their fault for not being organized enough, us kids had to deal with the punishment of the teachers' non-organization. The punishment was the constant amount of projects, homework, tests, and assignments! It was like a week and a half of this stress, and it was very tough. It was also frustrating, I had so much to do already, but the teachers screwed up once more, and took away the few minutes of free time I had already, not to mention that they also made me miss a ton of activities... :(
But, next is February. Now, in February, MacMillan (my school) had a BIG fundraiser for the music department in our school. It was called: MacMania, and it was great! Basically, it was a 5-hour dance/carnival. It was from 10-3, and there were many activities to keep you occupied all daaay! There was the dance in the cafeteria, hosted by MacMillan's student DJ's. I like it when they host it, since teachers put on really dumb music that hasn't been around for like, a thousand years! Old people these days... Throughout the halls, there were many games like: Whack a Mole, Mini-Basketball, Ring Toss, Bean Bag Toss and Giant Tricycle Racing. (Giant Tricycle Racing was amaaazing!) Then, there was a lot of food to purchase. Hot Dogs, Pop, Hamburgers, Popcorn, Sno-Cones from OUR OWN machine, Cotton Candy from our own machine as well, Pizza, Chocolate Bars, and a BUNCH of candy. They were also selling lots of glow rings, glow necklaces, glow bracelets, glow sticks, glow toys, and glow glasses! To add on top of all this, it was a casual day! A break from all this uniform nonsense! In the gym, there were other games. Like an inflatable castle where you play Wrecking Ball in, an inflatable jousting field, Mighty Strength Tester, and a silly shower! (: It was a day I will never forget.
But that's not all; since shortly after that, I got sick. :( Yes, I just came home from a restaurant, and I started puking the next morning! I woke up really early, went to my mom and puked over 10 times from midnight to 7 in the morning. I'm not even exxagerating! It was horrible! So that day (Wednesday) I stayed home, and I did the same on Thursday. I felt terrible, I also had a fever of 39-40 degrees! On Friday, I had a runny nose, headache, and I was sore all over, so I couldn't go to school, or the major volleyball tournament I desperately wanted to go to! But, the next week, from Monday-Thursday was my school trip to Quebec City! All the grade 7's were invited to come, and almost all of them DID come. Now, I know I've been to Quebec a jillion times, but it was different when I was experiencing it with my friends. We had a lot of fun, although each day was PACKED. We had soo many places the teachers planned to visit, and we were exhausted by the end of the day! But, it was still lots of fun. Even though we learned too much when we were 9 hours away from school - Stepping into Quebec is like opening a history textbook! We still had lots of time to souvenir shop, buy many, many things, have fun, and hang out. It was a great experience that I will not go into too many details about. But I do want you to comment on whether or not you'd like me to write a seperate blog post on this adventure of mine! Thanks. (:
That Friday, everyone stayed home anyways, 'cause it was a long trip, and nobody wanted to go to school! At that point, I missed 8 days of school out of the past 10! The next week, I only went to school Monday-Wednesday, and Thursday morning. Since I had a volleyball tournament that afternoon, and Friday was a P.A. day. Those few weeks were great! But, of course I got punished, I had to catch up on all those days I missed that weekend! It was an incredible amount of work, and it was exhausting, but I'm glad I'm finally back on track with the rest of the class!
Now, it's finally March! On the first day of March, we got our report cards. I was very proud! My average last term was 83%, and this term, it climbed up to 87%! I worked hard, and I think I deserved it. I improved in almost each subject, and in the Learning Skills section. My best subject overall was my French. Being in French Immersion, I was good at french for sure. But my marks were outstanding. In French Reading, I received a 98, in French Writing, a 95, and in French Oral and Visual Communication, I received a 98. Although, next term I'm going for straight 98's! My worst subject this term was Drama. :( But, to be honest with you, that is also the subject I care the least about! What am I going to use drama for in the future? I will most definetely have no future in acting, since I couldn't act or do all this fake dramatic stuff if my life depended on it! I hate having to be someone else, when I am me, myself, and I. There is no one else to be quite like me, so why should I act someone else? It bugs me. And, what's even worse is using our "body language" to display our feelings. No. It's not my style. I like talking, and expressing myself that way, and in other linguistical manners such as writing. So, overall, I made the honour roll term once more, and I am proud of my achievements. Yay!
Next, we had our annual speech arts competitions. I am good at making speeches, writing, and speaking in French, but I still don't enjoy speeches one bit! I also didn't like how our teacher made our topics start with "if" or make it relate to us. I've never done that before, and I didn't like it. I enjoy a solid topic. Well, I don't enjoy anything, but it's better than what my teacher made us do. So, finally, my topic was: My family and Household Chores. This was all basically about stereotypes for chores, and breaking them in my life. Sadly, I made it to the school-wide speech arts competitions, where we presented in front of the whole school, since we were one of the 2 best speech presentors in the class. Here, 2 more students would be picked to represent our school, and move on to the TDSB's competitions. Okay, yes, I was one of those students. On one side, I was frustrated I had to continue, and keep this stress going. But on the other side, I was glad I did a good job in front of the whole school, and I was glad I was good enough to be chosen to represent our school from both grade 7's and 8's. But, there was an issue with that. The next round is the same day as the all-day co-ed beach volleyball tournament. And I'm needed in both speeches, and the volleyball team! This is a bad dilemma to be in. But, it also brings me to my next topic: School Sports Teams.
As most of you audience members know: I am an athlete. I love sports, they occupy my time so well, they bring joy, amusement, fitness, love, and competivity to my life, and I play many of them. But I only tried out for 2 this year, in school. The reason for that is that not only does one sport keep me very busy, but not all the sports I play are included in the school teams. Since basketball season is sadly over, as you know, now it's Volleyball. Well, I shouldn't say that. Volleyball's in fact, coming to an end soon! Our school's best sport is Volleyball. The reason for this is that we have many teachers who play volleyball very well, as well as our principal. Now, our principal is by far the most talented volleyball player I've seen yet. That's why he makes sure MacMillan is very involved in all volleyball teams, competitions, and tournaments - He coaches. Each volleyball season, there are 3 grade 7 teams, and 3 grade 8 teams. Grade 7 boys, grade 7 girls, and grade 7 co-ed. Same for the grade 8's. Boys, girls, and co-ed. In case you're wondering what co-ed is, it's a team consisting of both boys AND girls. The rules are slightly different, and it's harder, but it's still so much more fun. I made the girls team, and we did great! In a tournament, we got bronze, 3rd place of approximately 12 teams. And, we made it to the playoffs. Now, you try out for the girls and boys team, but for co-ed teams, you get chosen by the coaches. If you didn't try out and make it for the girls or boys teams, there is no way you're on the co-ed team. You fully have the right to be chosen, and say you wouldn't like to stay on the team. But, you should be on the team, since only the best 8 players from both the boys and girls team make it to co-ed. I was lucky enough to make it to co-ed, since my position is to set, and I do a great job at it. Our team, if I do say so myself, is talented. And we have a few games coming up the week after March Break, as well as one of the most exciting events: A Beach Volleyball Tournament! It will be a blast. Now, it's hard to adapt to the boys, since I have played with the girls on the team since elementary school! But, it's coming, and we are guaranteed to have fun, go far, and learn so much more about volleyball. This season, I have learned to love the sport so much more than ever before, thanks to the great coaches: Ms. Bayliss, Ms. Lucas, Mr. Evans, and Mr. McNeill. So, for that, thank you. <3
And, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph: March Break? What? Well, indeed. All of next week there is no school, since it's the March Holidays! I am soo happy about that... From this moment RIGHT NOW, March Break started 4 hours and 26 minutes ago! I am soo excited! For the first time, I can just relax at home. Yes, I am going to be seeing my friends, and having sleep-overs, but at least I am not being dragged on a 5-hour drive to Montreal. Don't get me wrong, seeing my cousins is great, but, I really needed a break. We're constantly visiting, and I have a life, in case you didn't realize. I need to be with my friends, and have fun. So, I'll probably have enough time so that you will be able to see another blog post by next Sunday. This March Break will be a great one, filled with friends, movies, and sleep-overs. :) Yahoooo!
Ooh, and not to forget my last major event I wish to highlight. Last weekend, on a Sunday, with my basketball league, we went to our annual Raptors game. Basically, it's an event where the whole league can watch the game, with the tickets we order, and afterwards, play on the Raptors Court. We do this once per year, and it's an event to look forward to! I've done this many times before, from all the countless years I've been in this league, but the fun never departs. From a first-time player, it's an honour to play, dive, and fall on the court where the greatest Toronto Raptors famous NBA players sweat! Not only the Toronto Raptors', but also their opposing team. Think about it, the floor where LeBron James sweat, the floor where Kobe Bryant's designer sneakers have ran by, and the same floor that Shaquille O'Neal has probably sprinted by, fell on, and injured others on! Now, the nets! The ball you just shot has gone through the same net as Chris Bosh's dunk, Jared Jack's amazing fade-away shot, Jose Calderon's 3-pointer, Pau Gasol's last second fluke shot, and Yao Ming's MANY dunks. It's honourable, memorable, and a bunch of fun.
I just realized how much I wrote! I am sorry, but I know I NEEDED to let you guys in on the past 3 months of loneliness! I haven't written anything since the little cartoon thing for New Year's. And that's not right. I will make an effort to write shorter posts, but that goal got postponed today. So, I hope you enjoyed yourself reading this post, I hope you're glad you heard more about my past few months, and what's been going on in my small, yet eventful life. Thanks, guys. And don't forget to feel free to comment. Bye!
